The Name - Who are the Three Sisters?
Nestled in the heart of the majestic Texas Hill Country are three
county roads
(335,336,and 337) that bikers affectionately named “The Three Sisters”.
They are challenging, tricky, and a little twisted. You'll have to ride
all three to find out which one is your favorite....... The Three
Sisters or 'Twisted Sisters' keep bikers
coming back almost every week of the year.
The Reason - Veterans Day
A Chance to Honor Those that Served
To honor those that served our country and fought in various American wars. It’s
a call on all citizens to observe the day by remembering the sacrifices of all
those who fought so gallantly, and through rededication to the task of promoting
an enduring peace.
World War I officially ended on June
28, 1919, with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. The actual fighting between the Allies and Germany, however, had
ended seven months earlier with the armistice,
which went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh
month in 1918. Armistice Day, as November 11 became known, officially became a
holiday in the United States in 1926, and a national holiday 12 years later. On
June 1, 1954, the name was changed to Veterans Day to honor all U.S. veterans.

The Scenery
The Texas Hill Country s bustling with river acitivity throughout the
summer months, but the Fall and Spring are riding seasons. The landscape provides beauty no matter what the season, however,
this time of year is especially gorgeous. In nearby Vanderpool, the Lost Maples State Natural Area
is 2200 acres of Uvalde Bigtooth Maples that will be exploding with
red, gold, yellow, and rust in mid-November. The Maples, Texas Red
Oaks, and Cypress trees blanket this area
to give one of the most colorful shows in the fall months. Vanderpool
is also home to the Lone Star Motorcycle Museum.
